Charles Lachaux is among the most talked-about young winemakers in Burgundy, and bottles from this Vosne-Romanee estate have become some of the most sought-after in the region. Romanee-Saint-Vivant is a Grand Cru sitting just below Romanee-Conti on the slope, and the Lachaux family farms a tiny parcel of old vines there, planted in 1926. Vinified with full-cluster fermentation and aged in a measured proportion of new oak, this is the silken, perfumed style of Vosne taken to its highest expression.
