Imported by Neal Rosenthal since 1978, the estate is old-school to the core: indigenous yeasts, long fermentations in glass-lined concrete, patient aging in big Slavonian casks. The result shows the tar-and-roses soul of Nebbiolo with ripe, almost sexy fruit and real terroir underneath. It'll reward a few years in the cellar, but there's no crime in opening one now.
