Chateau Grand Village (Chateau Lafleur) Bordeaux Superieur 2023

This is a Bordeaux Superieur made by the family behind Chateau Lafleur, one of Pomerol's most legendary and elusive estates. Grand Village is the Guinaudeaus' original family home, and they treat it as a serious terroir project rather than an everyday red. The 2023 is mostly Merlot with a splash of Cabernet Franc, grown on clay-limestone and farmed with the same care as their famous Pomerol. It leans toward balance over brawn: fleshy in the middle, with powdery tannins and a mineral, saline grip. A ridiculous amount of pedigree for a wine at this level.
