The Story
The yellow chateau of Saint-Estephe, Lafon-Rochet is a Fourth Growth that has been quietly producing some of the appellation's most reliable wines for decades. The 2020 was crafted under the long stewardship of the Tesseron family, just before the estate transitioned to the Lorenzetti family in 2021. It's a ripe, modern Saint-Estephe in a warm, generous vintage — plenty of dark Cabernet fruit, freshened by the appellation's signature mineral grip. Built to age a decade or two, but already approachable with a long decant. A serious Left Bank Bordeaux at a fair price.
