The Story
La Robe d'Ange is Clos Fornelli's pure expression of Sciaccarellu, the spicy, perfumed red grape that defines much of Corsica's red wine identity. The Vanucci-Couloumère family farms organically in the commune of Tallone on the island's east coast, hand-harvests, and ferments with native yeasts in concrete to let the variety speak unobscured. The result is medium-bodied and bright, with rose petal and white pepper lifting red-fruited flesh. Think of it as Corsica's answer to a great cru Beaujolais or a Mediterranean Pinot Noir, just with more spice and sunshine in the glass.
