The Story
Edith & Ida is Hobo Wine Company's natural-leaning label, and the Chardonnay comes from one of California's true treasures: Lolonis Vineyard in Redwood Valley, with Chardonnay vines dating to the mid-1940s and a member of the Historic Vineyard Society. These are some of the oldest Chardonnay vines in the state, dry-farmed and CCOF certified organic. Hobo's approach is minimalist — native yeasts, no commercial additives, low sulfur — letting the old-vine concentration and Mendocino's cool nights speak. The result is a Chardonnay with real cut and chalky energy, a far cry from the buttery California cliché.
