Mark Angeli took over La Ferme de la Sansonniere in Thouarce in 1989 and farmed biodynamically from the very start, helping prove what serious dry Chenin could be. Les Fouchardes comes from a single parcel of red clay over schist, picked ripe, gently pressed in an old vertical wood press, and aged in used barrels with barely any sulfur. The signature is an extraordinary saline mouthfeel wrapped around white fruit and citrus. A benchmark bottle from a true pioneer.
