The Story
SKINS is Andrew Jones's skin-contact white — a kaleidoscopic blend of around a dozen grape varieties (Chenin Blanc and Pinot Gris lead the way, with Albarino, Vermentino, Riesling, Verdelho, and others rotating in) fermented and pressed off the skins on their own timetable, lot by lot. The result is what most people now call an orange wine: pinkish-amber in the glass, textural on the palate, with strawberry, red plum, rose water, and melon-rind aromas leading into a finish of red apple and white-flower flavors. A great gateway orange for the curious, and a satisfying daily drinker for fans of the style.
