Valdiguie is the grape California spent decades calling Napa Gamay - a misidentification finally corrected by a French ampelographer in 1980. The vines here are old (more than a century in some blocks), CCOF-organic, and rooted in Mendocino's Redwood Valley. Fermented in stainless, bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur, and clocking in around 11.5 percent alcohol, this is a chillable, glou-glou red with bright tart berry fruit and a savory herbal edge.
