The Story
This is Davide Rosso's village-level Barolo, a blend of fruit from several Serralunga sites — Costa Bella, Broglio, Sorano, and Meriame — that together capture the soul of the commune. The Rosso family has tended vines in Serralunga for more than a century, and under Davide's hand the domaine has become a reference point for the village's signature combination of perfume and power. Fermentation runs about 25 days in cement with native yeast, followed by 18 to 36 months in large French oak. The 2021 is concentrated and bright, with violet, rose, dark berry, and that telltale Serralunga thread of tar and earth running underneath. A serious Barolo at a remarkably honest price.
