The Story
From the only remaining single malt distillery on Scotland's Black Isle: Glen Ord, founded in 1838 by Thomas Mackenzie on land the Clan Mackenzie held for nearly 700 years. This 2024 Special Release—part of Diageo's annual limited collection—was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then part-finished in casks with Pyrenean and Spanish oak ends. Bottled at natural cask strength (57.4% ABV), it retains the orchard-fruit character Glen Ord is known for while the Spanish oak adds nuttiness and warm baking spice.
